La Vendetta (lit. Blood Feud) is a Philippine drama that aired on GMA Network. It began to air on October 29, and ended on January 18, 2008.[1] The series is an experimental soap opera from as it is the first series in the Philippines to use the genre of suspense-thriller.[2]

[edit] Pre-production
The production started late September, while filming started on October 12 for a October 29 airing - incredibly short for a primetime series. But, in fact, the production was conceived long before 2005, and had to be postponed because of the "boom" of telefantasyas.[3]
[edit] Casting
This series is the much-awaited come-back series for Jennylyn Mercado after the feud between her manager and GMA Network. This is also Sunshine Dizon's new series after the recently concluded Impostora.[4]
In addition, this is also the come-back Philippine drama for veteran actors Rustom Padilla[5] and Snooky Serna after their recent showbiz revelations.[6]
Sheryl Cruz was initially tapped to play an Amanda, but chose to do Princess Sarah with ABS-CBN.[7] Jean Garcia was chosen for her replacement.[8]

[edit] Plot
This is a story of three sisters with different personalities and secrets. Their individual differences will put sibling rivalry to another level and push one of them to the extreme.
The story revolves around the three Cardinale sisters who clash in their fight for love and their rights to the family’s fortune. When one of them dies, the two remaining siblings, as well as everyone linked to them, become primary suspects. The motive for the murder, as well as the person behind it, is the mystery that has to be solved.[9]

The official theme song for the series is entitled "P.S. I Love You" under the composition of composer Mark Lopez. The song was originally sung by Sharon Cuneta for the her second ever movie back in 1981. This time around, it is Jennylyn Mercado who gave her rendition of the song for the series.
