La Salle High School is a Roman Catholic College Preparatory School in Milwaukie, Oregon, near Portland. Under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Portland, the Brothers of the Christian Schools established La Salle in 1966 as part of their worldwide network of schools which began in 1679 with St. John Baptist de La Salle in Rheims, France. La Salle's current enrollment is approximately 623 and nearly 97% of graduates attend a college, university, or technical school.
Although still a Catholic school, nearly 30% of students are not Catholic. In addition, the school only employs one Christian Brother as a teacher. (Br. Joseph was hired for the 2007-2008 school year. He is the first Christian Brother to teach at La Salle Milwaukie in nearly 20 years.) La Salle Milwaukie falls under the jurisdiction of the District of San Francisco. It offers a wide array of service for students.
