La Historia ( English: The History) is a 2001 compilation album by singer Ricky Martin. The recordings are only in Spanish (though the version of the song "María" featured in this album is the Spanglish radio edit version). It encompasses five of her first six albums A Medio Vivir ("María", "A Medio Vivir", "Volverás", "Fuego de Noche, Nieve de Día", "Bombón de Azúcar", "Te Extraño, Te Olvido, Te Amo"), Vuelve ("Vuelve", "La Bomba", "Perdido Sin Tí", "La Copa de la Vida", "Por Arriba, Por Abajo"), and Spanish singles from Ricky Martin ("Livin' la Vida Loca", "Bella"), and Sound Loaded ("She Bangs", "Sólo Quiero Amarte"). No song from Martin's second album Me Amarás was included in this compilation. The album contained reworkings of two of his early songs "Fuego Contra Fuego" and "El Amor de Mi Vida" from Ricky Martin.
