La Coupe de Maisons-Laffitte

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

La Coupe de Maisons-Laffitte is a Group 3 flat horse race in France for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a straight distance of 2,000 metres (approximately 1 mile 2 furlongs) at Maisons-Laffitte Racecourse in September.

It was first run in 1906 as La Coupe d'Or, changing to the present name in 1941. Throughout its history the distance of the race has remained unaltered, and aside from some wartime venue changes and cancellations it has always been held at Maisons-Laffitte.
