La Cañada Stakes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The La Canada Stakes is an American Grade II race for Thoroughbred horses run at Santa Anita Park each year. The La Canada is open to fillies and mares, age four, willing to race one and one-eighth miles on the dirt and offers a purse of $200,000.

The February run La Canada Stakes is the third leg of the three-race "La Canada stakes series" that begins with the Grade I La Brea Stakes the December before. The second leg is the one and one-sixteenth mile GII El Encino Stakes run in January.
