La Boum (The Party) is a 1980 French language motion picture comedy directed by Claude Pinoteau and starring Claude Brasseur, Brigitte Fossey, and Sophie Marceau. The movie has been an international box-office hit. The music was written by Vladimir Cosma. Richard Sanderson sang the song "Reality".

The movie is followed by La Boum 2 (1982).

The film tells the story of a 13-year-old girl, Vic, who falls in love with a boy from the same school. She and her friends are anxious to explore relationships at "boums" (parties), without the watchful eyes of their parents. At the same time, Vic's parents have extramarital relationships before reuniting towards the end of the film.
