La'ilay Adiyabo

La'ilay Adiyabo (Tigrinya "Upper Adiyabo") is one of the 36 woredas in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Mi'irabawi Zone, La'ilay Adiyabo is bordered on the south by Tahtay Koraro, on the southwest by Asigede Tsimbela, on the northwest by Tahtay Adiyabo, on the northeast by Eritrea, on the east by the Mehakelegnaw (Central) Zone, and on the southeast by Medebay Zana. Towns and cities in La'ilay Adiyabo include Addi Daero and Addi Nebreid.
Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 107,754, of whom 53,323 were males and 54,431 were females; 10,301 or 9.56% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 14.7%. With an estimated area of 1,820.94 square kilometers, La'ilay Adiyabo has an estimated population density of 59.2 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 40.62.[1]
