[edit] Image:Mav1.png listed for deletion

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Mav1.png has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. RHaworth 14:59, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

And please stop uploading the same image under different names. -- RHaworth 14:59, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright issues

[edit] Copyright issue with Pocomo Rugby Club

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Pocomo Rugby Club, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a direct copy from http://www.unitedrugby.ca/jm/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=31. As a copyright violation, Pocomo Rugby Club appears to qualify for speedy deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Pocomo Rugby Club has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If the source is a credible one, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GFDL, you can comment to that effect on Talk:Pocomo Rugby Club. If the article has already been deleted, but you have a proper release, you can reenter the content at Pocomo Rugby Club, after describing the release on the talk page. However, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. --Onorem 12:09, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] United Rugby Club

I have also removed the history sections for both Pocomo and Douglas from the article, United Rugby Club. These sections were also direct copies http://www.unitedrugby.ca/jm/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=31. If you have used copyright material in any of your other recent edits, please help by trying to find and remove them yourself. --Onorem 12:15, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please contact the Wikimedia Foundation

Please see the section regarding Copyright owners who submitted their own work to Wikipedia at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. Right now, there is no way for anyone here to be sure that you have the rights you claim to have. I do believe that you are who you say, but either releasing the content under the GFDL or contacting the Wikimedia Foundation would make things much easier. --Onorem 13:30, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Crest001.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Crest001.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
