[edit] Summary
Map showing field line connections on the surface of the Earth for L-values 1.5, 2, 3, 4 and 5. If extended into space, these field lines would cross the Earth's magnetic equator at 1.5, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Earth radii, respectively.
This plot was generated using approximately the IGRF-8 model of the Earth's magnetic field.
Created by Drdan14 with Matlab 7.4.
