[edit] Hi

Hi, and thanks :-)

6*9(base 10) = 54(base 10)
42(base 13) = (2*13^0)+(4*13^1)(base 10) = 2+52 or 54(base 10)
so... 6*9(base 10) = 42(base 13) is true QED  :-) I'm here, and from H2G2/hub @ the BBC as well - and a bit Geek-ish :-) "I'm just this guy, you know..." My 42 (Base 13) 23:19, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

In order to encourage more participation, and to help people find a specific area in which they are more able to help out, we have organized taskforces at WikiProject Japan. [edit] Gosforth, User talk:80.77.242.130

You put a vandal warning on 80.77.242.130, and reverted against these diffs. Can you point me to the vandalism? I'm assuming good faith - that there is now a Sainsbury's in Gosforth. --Tagishsimon (talk) 14:48, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Sainsbury's seem to think they have a store open in Gosforth.--Tagishsimon (talk)
And, come to that, what on earth are you doing issuing uw-vandalism3 (definition: Assumes bad faith; stern cease and desist) to an edit which a) is probably accurate and b) where there is no evidence whatsoever - that I can see - of bad faith, either in the edit, or in the IPs edit history. Finally, I now see that you have reverted only one of the two edits the IP made, leaving the lead sentence and last paragraph in the supermarkets section somewhat contradicting each other. Not good. --Tagishsimon (talk) 15:10, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
No problem; not least as you quote from Joe's Garage on your user page. You must have some good in you ;) --Tagishsimon (talk)

err yes there is a store now open in Gosforth... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.39.250.157 (talk) 11:24, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your VandalProof Application

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, L337p4wn. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that: you don't have at least 250 mainspace edits. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. Snowolf 14:21, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fake? needs references

As you have expressed interest in improving Japanese rock articles, will you go see what you can do about adding reliable sources to the Fake? article? I've marked it as needing references, but some anon and a new editor keep removing the tag. Therefore, it would be extremely helpful if you could help add references to the article. I've never heard of Fake? until now, so I'm not sure where to even look for info. Thanks! ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 23:08, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 74.77.168.149

This controversy should be a free standing article.

This crime is notable/controversial because of UVA's dismissive response to the victim when the attack when reported, the confession of the attacker twenty years later via the ninth step of AA, his unexpected indictment because Virginia has no statute of limitations on felonies, his extradition to Virginia, his plea of guilty to a lesser charge after insinuating he could help identity “others involved,” his being wholly unable to provide useful information to such effect, his later release after serving only six months and the suffering of the victim because of the delay of justice. This incident does not appear in the AA article, the rape article, the UVA article or the Virginia article. Why as such should it appear in the Phi Kappa Psi article except under the theory that it is notable primarily because of where the crime took place.74.77.168.149 05:32, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank you. Submitted.74.77.168.149 05:54, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

The submission was rejected. If the event is not worthy of inclusion in an Encuclopedia in and of itself why should it be on the Phi Kappa Psi page. I want to proceed with removing it. How should I do this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.77.168.149 (talk) 17:37, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Nota bene: When 74.77.168.149 was unable to create a stand-alone article anonymously, he used that as an excuse to delete the content from Phi Kappa Psi! When the deletion was discovered later, it was reverted. But, with various other acounts, this same user is now back to attempting to delete the content. —SlamDiego←T 15:42, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A Question Regarding Talk Pages

Hello, L337p4wn; I have (yet another) question about talk pages. How exactly do I reply to others' opinions? Upon following your instructions and clicking the + sign at the top, I learned how to create a new section, but not give my opinon on viewpoints from others.

For example, when I clicked the + sign and attempted to reply to someone, I clicked "show preview" and it displayed a new heading with my opinons. If I wanted to reply to the following example post, how precisely would I do it?:

____________

What exactly is the difference between a small katakana/hiragana "tsu" and a normal size? Does this matter/affect the reading of the word? Or is it just a style of writing used by some?

Thank you for your help, Mizu onna sango15 06:33, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry

I'm totally sorry about that. I believe there is something wrong with the vandalism reverting tool. We both reverted at the same time, and it seems that the tool saw your edit as the vandalism. Please accept my apologies. ĞavinŤing 06:04, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RfA thank-spam

Thank you!
Thank you for your help in my RfA. It hammered home a few things I need to keep in mind while admining and passed with a final tally of 40/0/4; two people forgot to vote in time, leaving me short of that exquisite number :-(, but I'll just have to fudge the next vote about me. Adminship feels slightly august but not particularily exalted, so I shall endeavour to consider it a toolkit and make sincere efforts to know what I'm doing before using it. [edit] Advice?

Hello, L337p4wn! It's Mizu onna sango15. I have just recently created my userpage, and I noticed how nice yours is! Mine is not nearly as good. Do you have any advice for me to improve the quality and style of my Userpage?

Also, I have a few questions:

  • What is the code or template for the box that surrounds the text in an article such as on your Userpage or ArielGold's?
  • How do you add an image (thumbnail or large) to an article? What is the code for it, in other words.

Thank you! Mizu onna sango15 07:17, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Photo on Photoshop Elements

I called the photo "pointless" because it tells the reader nothing about Photoshop Elements. It is captioned "A picture of a girl altered in Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0", but what is there in the picture that shows anything interesting, useful, or distinctive about PE? Couldn't it just as well have been altered in pretty much any other photo editing program? And anyway, without a "before" picture, how is the user supposed to see that it's altered at all? It would be much more instructive to have a screenshot of PE's "variations" (or whatever they call it) system, showing the same photo modified in N different ways. --Macrakis (talk) 19:11, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Action Hotdog.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Action Hotdog.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 03:39, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Asking for help on WiKUpedia project

Hi L337p4wn,

My name is Jarrod and I'm currently working on a project called WiKUpedia, with the goal of providing the one-stop shop for all things KU. We've had a tremendous response from the community since we went live on Sunday but we need help organizing and improving the wiki. We decided to reach out to experienced Wikipedia editors working on the WikiProject: Kansas. You can read a little more about our project in a news story in the Lawrence Journal World

Please feel free to take a look around our project and if this sounds like something that interests you, please respond on my talk page or by email. Thank you so much in advance. Jarrodm (talk) 04:18, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Japanese Music Charts

Hi, I'm just writing to you to request your help and assistance in referencing the Japanese Music Charts. Through out alot of popular english songs I have viewed I have noticed that they have been noted as performing well in Japan and have also read that the Japanese music market it very big. But in saying this every song I have seen has not got a Japanese chart position in the charts box. So if you are into music and willing to try and provide information on the Japanese Music Charts it would be greatly appreciated so then wikipedia users can start adding the Japanese chart positions into the chart boxes for popular songs. [edit] Greetings

Tee-hee! Guess who...?

Firstly, I have a question: I've read all the instructions for Committed identity, but still have no clue how to do it. The instructions make sense, sure, but I don't know where to post my hash sequence. Could you possibly go through the whole process in layman's terms so I could protect my account? :)

Second... 1,406th edit! :P WOO-HOO!!

--Mizu onna sango15/珊瑚15 22:48, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh, also... (almost forgot) I think I *finally* figured out how to do it, but I want to check with you, lest it fail in the case of an account compromisation because of a simple mistake on my part. RSVP promptly and I will e-mail you my secret string (it does say to give a trusted user your secret string, and since I consider you to be my adopter, I think I trust you. :D). Cheerio! --Mizu onna sango15/珊瑚15 16:16, 19 May 2008 (UTC).

[edit] Translate?

Hello, again! :D Sorry to bother you once more, but I have a bit of an enquiry:

L337-chan— may I ask you— how good is your German? I'm a major contributor to insanity, and its German Wikipedia version is at FA status, so we're trying to find people who can translate the German version so we can bring the article to Featured status as soon as possible! Do you think your fluency is strong enough to translate the article? You seem to know a good amount (not that I would know, I don't speak a lick :P), and your the only editor I know that knows German. Cheers, --Mizu onna sango15/珊瑚15 00:43, 20 May 2008 (UTC).

[edit] Editor review

How's your ER going, L337p4wn? I hope you got a great review. :-) You know, I'm currently taking AC. One day I may become an administrator! Cheers, --Mizu onna sango15/珊瑚15 20:08, 5 June 2008 (UTC).
