Dr. L. Patrick Devlin, Professor of Communication at the University of Rhode Island, held his post for over thirty years. Devlin is a specialist in media and politics, and has written books such as Contemporary Political Speaking (1971) and Political Persuasion in Presidential Campaigns (1987). Dr. Devlin retired from his post at URI in 2006(?).
