L'eclisse ("The Eclipse") is a 1962 film directed by Michelangelo Antonioni. It is considered the last of a trilogy that also comprises L'avventura and La notte. The film tells the story of a young literary translator, Vittoria (Monica Vitti), who from July 10 to September 10, 1961 has a summer romance with an energetic young stockbroker, Piero (Alain Delon). They are unable to form a steady relationship and in the end (most likely) fail to meet as agreed upon at 8:00 in the evening on the suburban street corner of Viale del Ciclismo and Viale della Tecnica in the Eur, a modern neighbourhood south of Rome where Vittoria lives.

L'eclisse won the Jury Special Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Palme d'Or (Golden Palm).
