L'Astrologue de Bruges (The Astrologer of Bruges) is the twentieth book from Yoko Tsuno comic book series written by Roger Leloup and published in 1994. (ISBN 2-8001-2101-7)

[edit] Story

Two mysterious men, who are dressed in the style of ancient times and are seemingly ageless, summon Yoko to their domicile in Bruges to force her to reveal the location of a certain vial from the 16th century. On top of that, they possess a painting from that era which clearly depicts both Yoko and Monya! Eager to solve the mystery, Yoko, Monya, Morning Dew, Pol and Vic travel to Bruges of 1545 and stumble into a war between two powerful men, who struggle for control over the secret of the plague.

During their stay in Bruges, Yoko and her friends meet Mieke, a poor flower girl. Pol falls in love with Mieke and when the group returns to the present, they decide to take the girl along. But on their return to the present, one of their enemies already expects them and demands to be taken back in time. But this proves too much of a problem to handle for him, and he is vaporized. Mieke, however, remains in the present and adapts well, and becomes Pol's fiancee.

[edit] Appendix

A sixteen-page appendix was added to this album, to celebrate the series reaching album number 20. This add-on, called Le Monde fabuleux d'un personnage hors du commun (The fabulous world of an exceptional character), consists of nine short articles about aspects of the series.
