I think that Wikipedia is inherently destructive to information. I am a vandal, but in ways more clever than most admin can surmise. My vandalism isn't obvious and blatant: It is poisonous and toxic, a seed of misinformation that tears at the very foundation of the overall structure. Don't go looking for my vandalism in the history of my account; You won't find it there. My IP can be banned. My entire address range can be banned (Bad Idea: I use Earthlink). You won't stop the internal rot that spreads from my fingers. You'll simply be stopping any legitimate editing I might do, which is only done from this account.
Will I ever stop? Yes. I'll stop when 24-year-old college dropouts are purged from the system of so-called credible administration. I'll stop when credentials are hard-earned and globally viewable. I'll stop when the vast majority of edits don't come packaged with comments such as, "This edit is against rules 4a, 6b and paragraph 12, section 3 of rule 22b." Some anonymous users have decent edits. Unfortunately, they are shredded or outright rejected by an egoistic community of rabble-rousers with nothing better to do than hide behind administrative rights.
On the intarwebs -- the communal experience of sharing knowledge -- this is known as trolling.
In the real world, these people get their asses whipped.
I enjoy computers, programming, my wife, trucks, guns, drinking good beer, high-definition television channels like the Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel. I am a HAM -- yes, I freeband. My political beliefs fall in line mostly with libertarianism. I believe strongly in the constitutional rights afforded American citizens by the Bill of Rights. Iraq is a terrible country full of terrible shits, and I'm not referring to the natives (although they're not entirely a pleasant bunch).
