From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vietnamese people utilize Len dong as a way to create a connection between practitioners and the deities, with which they may communicate with each other. Scholars have shown Len Dong it be a spectacular showcase of much of Vietnamese culture in general. The Vietnamese government has legalized Len Dong since 1987 after having it deemed as superstitious activity at the beginning of the 1950s. Thus, it is seeing a recurrence in popularity of practice.
