I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}}

[edit] Additional tips
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

[edit] Cities of South Korea thanks you
Excellent work. You fixed a number of links, grammar mistakes, and added some pictures in a single edit. The article is much more professional looking now. Thank you. I sometimes have trouble remembering which spelling is more accepted in relation to certain cities and especially in recognizing that Pocheon and Bucheon might be the same place. Very good. I welcome any further additions you would like to add. They are currently listed by population, but there are other things that could be included. For instance, the depopulation of Mokpo is especially interesting. Likewise, some information from the Speical Cities of Korea could be moved to Cities of South Korea page. I would be happy to work with you one this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DaronDierkes (talk • contribs) 06:42, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging for Image:SchoolRumble25.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SchoolRumble25.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Momotaro's Divine Sea Worriers.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Momotaro's Divine Sea Worriers.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. [edit] From Korean G-7 Article
I appreciate your contribution to the article. However, I do not think that the information you have given is correct. First of all China is not a country developed high speed train independently. Please, source any statements you put, and address your proof to support your point. Until then, the information is not NPOV, and it is false. Please source! Please visit my talk page as soon you read this. Again, I appreciate your contribution to the article. --User:Kingj123 08:47, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Republic or People's Republic of China (I think you are meaning Mainland China)? I will add People's Republic of China as one of the HSR countries as soon as I am sure. I am positive that Chinese developed their own independent HSR, however I am not sure about the date. Also, is there a way to get into the original homepage for 中華之星列車?--User:Kingj123 18:41, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

- seems that the other image ("soil+water=mud") also needs revising, due to my bad hand-drawing :( on which it is based. Would you mind providing an email account in your "My Preferences"? Then I can scan the page of the book where I got the information and mail that to you, which allows you to revise the images more easily. (I can't just upload that on Commons, since that'd violate the copyright.)--K.C. Tang 03:55, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Electric Utilities of Japan.png
Thank you for uploading Image:Electric Utilities of Japan.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Shell babelfish 22:20, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Tokyo in Popular culture
A good deal has been happening there--please see the talk page. Some of the material should be added back, but I am not familiar with it and cannot do it. If you can, please do it selectively--for the material with articles in wikipedia, and giving some kind of reference to a discussion of the material that shows the setting. (Japanese is of course OK, if you can give a translation).
[edit] Copy/Paste move of Musashi Gundoh
I realize this happened a year and a half ago, but on Talk:Musashi Gundoh you indicated that you performed a copy/paste move of the page to its new location. This is the incorrect way to move pages, because it separates the history (attributing everything you moved over to you, when you may or may not have been the one to contribute that information originally). The resulting move violates the GFDL. Can you tell me the title you moved it from so I can perform a history merge and correct the problem? Leebo T/C 21:53, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Alex Tora--202.249.211.185 (talk) 02:50, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Japanese flags
Thanks for what you have done so far. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 21:56, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks! I guess I should learn to handle .svg, but .png images are still better than nothing, hopefully. Kzaral (talk) 11:54, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- It doesn't bother me what format the images are in at all. As long as there is a construction sheet I can look at, like with the Nara-ken no hata you did, I can easily turn it into SVG. I am trying to build a list of these sheets together at User:Zscout370/jpmon and you are welcome to edit that page to show other prefectures that I missed. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 16:05, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Question; what got you interested into flags? I like to study flags as a hobby, but been doing a lot of the Japanese flags lately because I am learning the language at my college. If you feel like talking to me off Wikipedia about it, that is fine. There are some stuff I still need to learn about it, especially the JIS-Z color standards for images. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 15:47, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- I am also a flag fan with an interest in Soviet-era flags. Don't worry too much about flags being in Pantone, we have websites now that give the official Pantone shades. I also have software that gives the Pantone colors. I am just new with Munsell colors and, using the software you suggested, I can make Japanese flags more accurate. I am still trying to get construction sheets for the flags, but with your help, we both can do something great. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 05:15, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm..the program is failing for me, but I will try and install it later. The only flag I had problems getting the right color for is that of Nagano Prefecture; the JIS-Z number is listed on the flag/mon construction sheet. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 05:26, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
As for the Kagawa Prefecture, I found out the color of the symbol is JIS-Z-8721 according to their website and symbol document. The flag is the same color while the symbol is white on the flag. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 08:59, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- PCCS, from what I can tell, is a modified Munsell system. I am trying to find software about it. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 21:14, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- I also wanted to add a thanks for your work on the Mindan flag [1]. I'm new to the SVG format and couldnt get the flower right, it looks like you got it. Although I agree the font for 在日本大韓民国民団 looks a bit off but in anycase very close job. Good stuff. Cheers! Nesnad (talk) 10:18, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'll take a stab at it later. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 13:06, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Interesting read
自衛艦旗(軍艦旗) and the colors shown in an official document. If we can find out about those for that flag and the Hinomaru, it will be neat. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 08:27, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] award
The Original Barnstar | ||
For your efforts in gaining construction sheets of the flags of the Japanese prefectures, along with the required colors. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 23:02, 1 March 2008 (UTC) |
Wow, that's astonishing! Compared with your efforts, my contributions are quite limited. But thanks anyway. Kzaral (talk) 08:49, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- You broke the language barrier for me. While I do know Japanese, I don't know how to navigate past websites that have, as you pointed out, a login barrier. And your work with the colors is why I turned to you in the first place. I wanted to show my appreciation. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 17:57, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Significant figures
(English) Hi, Kzaral,
Your translations on Japanese railways are enormous in number and could be appreciated. But, please understand the idea of significant figures (有効数字) when you write figures. "1 km" and "1.0 km" are different. And your reply in my talk page in JAWP is highly awaited, just a regard is enough. --Maxima m (talk) 03:16, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh sorry, you have created newer tables (after August, 2007?) with considering significant figures, haven't you? I checked some histories to notice that.--Maxima m (talk) 05:12, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
(Japanese) Kzaral
--Maxima m (talk) 03:16, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- おっと、失礼しました。いくつかの記事の履歴を拝見したところ、新しく作られた(2007年8月以降?)表は有効数字を踏まえて作られているように拝見しました。--Maxima m (talk) 05:12, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Dekotora DVD.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Dekotora DVD.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

[edit] Shinhidaka
Hi Kzaral,
I had just finished adding a geobox2 template to Shinhidaka, Hokkaidō when you replaced it with the Japanese City Infobox template. I did not realize there was one. I am glad I know about it now. I did have a question about the municipal flags, where do you get the images? Do you create them yourself? I would like to get the flags for Hidaka-chō, Erimo-cho, and Samani-cho. These are the other cities in the Hidaka Subprefecture.imars (talk) 06:10, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
