Kyrie Maezumi

Kyrie Maezumi (born September 24) is an American actress and musician of Russian, British and Japanese descent[citation needed]. She was discovered by Cutler Management at a sushi bar in Santa Monica who encouraged her to take acting classes. She is most recognizable for her role on the small screen as Maya Chinn on the NBC daytime drama series, Passions, which she played from January 2006, until the character died in June 2006. She went on to do the film Cosmic Radio followed by DAZE.
A Los Angeles native, Kyrie grew up in a close family where her performing skills were apparent very early on. She has been a life-long dancer with training in ballet, jazz and modern technique in addition to an impressive musical resume. She attended the Idlewild School of Music and Arts near Palm Springs before enrolling at San Jacinto Community College.
Kyrie is a composer, songwriter and singer in addition to playing piano, flute, violin, 6 and 12-string guitar and banjo. Her group, "Peep and the Shivers," can be seen performing in hot LA clubs when her schedule allows. She is currently working on a collection of original songs for her first CD. Kyrie is single and lives in the culturally and artistically diverse Echo Park area of Los Angeles. Kyrie is the daughter of the late Taizan Maezumi-roshi.
