1. Please be civil and respect that this is my talk page. That means avoiding excessive images (barnstars and smileys are fine, within reason), not treating my talk page as your personal chat room, and not altering your comments post facto.

Subst'ing sig
Hmm? My sig isn't copied or transcluded... Oh, unless you're referring to old ones. My sig was set up for a bit so it would just make a transclusion like so {{User:Editor at Large/sig}} when I signed ~~~~, which would show up as my signature; I wasn't adding the template intentionally. It doesn't do that anymore, never fear :-) — Editor at Large(speak) 22:33, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
To my friend
There are a thousand reasons I could leave this place
A thousand things I need not in life
A thousand stresses I must flee
A thousand woes to make me quit this race
You are one of the few that light up the gray
Darkness of arguments and sorrow
Lonely nights and lost friends
A lovely ray of sunlight into my day
You are braver than I could ever be in your shoes
Defying pain, death, and loss
Smiling gently in the face of God
You are gentle poet, smiling friend, and brave muse
I will always be there, my friend. Don't let your fire burn out. Defy everything. And know that I'm okay, that I am not alone, and that I will be in touch. *thousands of hugs* --ElaragirlTalk|Count 02:18, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

- They're all intertwined, the four things on my talk. The not well part is more mental instead of physical. It doesn't help that the teachers are making the harassment worse by inciting it. Tam Lin (novel)
Comment copied here from my talk page to make sure you see it: No apology necessary. Wikipedia is a co-operative enterprise. If that section is expanded, and it should be, then that link should definitely go in as part of a more specific discussion of particular quotations and allusions. :-) Random Passer-by 13:46, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Lanval
You've been doing a great job by the way. The bulleted format is fine for (embedded) lists, in cases where those are appropriate, but generally prose is preferable. In this case I don't think the allusions are really a list, but rather a discussion of content, and as such prose works much better. Otherwise I think your format is working fine so far.--Cúchullain t/c 21:42, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Double dashes
Yeah I didn't know that about the sig button until someone told me after I posted that. Still, two-word usernames, empty userpages, same bolding pattern, overlapping contribution histories, all three with the same PoV at Lisa Nowak/Oefelein and all using the signature button, taken together tends to mean something. Meanwhile, thanks for your thoughts on the article, I agree with your reasoning (at least, I strongly agree that's one way to get there under WP policy and a bit of heed). Orlando
Hi. I hope you didn't mind me editing away your plot summary on Orlando furioso. I just thought I'd provide a simple outline of the main plot threads first. It can be expanded later, although recording every incident in the poem would be a nightmare and no doubt counterproductive. Cheers. --Folantin 16:47, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Edit Summary.
To address your concern, that summary was not meant as a way of showing discouragement or displeasure; I was simply stating that I was surprised I was still getting supports and neutrals when a load of opposes had just come through not long beforehand. :) I hope that clears why I left that summary. Acalamari 22:44, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- As for learning from the opposes, I did put at the top of the RfA that I would treat the entire thing as a large-scale editor review if it was unsuccessful. I believe that treating it as a large-scale editor review is better than considering the RfA a "loss and a waste", as my RfA is not a loss or a waste. Acalamari 22:47, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
-
- I responded with: I thank you for understanding. :) Acalamari 16:24, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- I would also like to add that the summary was also meant to be humorous. I try to be a little creative with my edit summaries...within limits of course: I make sure they at least say what I've done in an edit. :) Acalamari 17:29, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- I should probably point out that humour in edit summaries doesn't always come through, as I've told another person recently. I'm not singling you out, but how effective humour is depends on a lot of factors, including how awake the reader is.
- Since I'm here, I also want to say that it's a sign of maturity on your part to treat your RfA as a large scale editor review of sorts. If this RfA doesn't end up succeeding, please address the various concerns and consider running again in the future. --Kyoko
- Indeed; it's best to use neutral edit summaries. As for the issues on my RfA; instead of waiting until the RfA ends to begin addressing them; I'm working on them now. I think it's best to deal with them the moment they are brought up on the RfA as opposed to waiting until the end. Acalamari 19:28, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't know what to say >_>
I did send you an email, but it's probably going to cause you distress, and I'm really sorry for it (as I've already said in a second email). Good luck, Will 01:22, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- As I said, I'm really really sorry. Get better soon. Will 19:16, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Username change problems.
Hey, I noticed you're having problems with your username change (that is, your user and talk pages being redirected to Kyoko (usurped) (talk · contribs). I think you should ask an admin to move your pages over and merge histories. Will 15:47, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Seems fixed! :) – Riana talk 16:22, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Btw, you have mail. Cheers, – Riana talk 16:40, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- No need to put a rush on the reply, I'm off to bed :) Take care, – Riana talk 16:56, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's only because I have your user page on watchlist. Otherwise, I would've not noticed :) Will 17:05, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Re:Usurpation question
The problem was that your userpage was being redirected to User:Kyoko (usurped). This happened because Kyoko was already pointing to your name before the usurp. So after the usurp move it inherited the redirect. I have made the necessary deletes and moves so that your userpage has the full (almost) history. =Nichalp «Talk»= 16:26, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- No, A double redirect would be something like this: A → B → C. Your case was different. Something like A → C and B → C, where you were looking at page B instead of A. =Nichalp «Talk»= 16:37, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Talkpage history
Hi, I notice half your talkpage history seems to be at User talk:Tachikoma. If you like I can perform a history merge so all the revisions are here and then redirect that page to this one. Alternatively I guess you could just move that page to an archive page. Just let me know on your talkpage if you'd like the history merge. WjBscribe 18:43, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Done. WjBscribe 21:15, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
re: deletion request
Heya, done. Which bits of your page did you redesign? I can't remember, but the overall effect is still very nice :) I've read your e-mail, sorry the reply is taking so long, I've been a bit busy with assignments and haven't had much time online lately. You should have a reply by the end of tomorrow. Take care, – Riana ऋ 02:35, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, deleted (er, that's what the 'done' meant, but it got overshadowed by the rest :p) I want my userpage to be a little more fancy than it is now, but I haven't got the time or the skill to redo it, and I don't really like talking about myself on-wiki so I wouldn't know what to put in it! The content I have there now is probably enough to identify me in real life, which doesn't freak me out really, but why encourage stupidity... Anyway, I just hopped on in between classes to print some notes out and couldn't help coming here, but I should get going now - take care :) – Riana ऋ 02:45, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
RfA Process
Would you be willing to help me go about proposing changes to the RfA process? I would really hate to see potenital admins be denied because they don't agree with the EU or don't like cats, you know ;). How would I propose this? Kntrabssi 05:56, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- I see what you are saying. I was pretty upset last night, as I think I was unfairly misjudged, and I think some people forgot about assuming good faith. My reasons for relisting Rev was that the only material that got him voted down last time was removed from his user page. Many peopl said that offensive userboxes disparaged the appearance of neutrality. Well, he removed the material, so he has shown the willingness to change. He also is extremely interested in working with the backlog, which is something we desperately need. As far as the critreria for opposing, well we disagree there. I think a vote of "I can't trust Germans" or "I don't trust people who read treble clef instruments" is kind of a ridiculous reason to oppose someone. Anyways, thanks for your replies, I will voice my concerns on the talk page. :) Kntrabssi 14:23, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Name Change.
I see your name change was successful! Sorry about what happened on that RfA when I gave support to that user referred to both of your names. Acalamari 20:49, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the revert. :) Acalamari 16:21, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

I've been thinking, and IMHO there's really no problem in adding ambrisentan and tadalafil to the template; thanks for your boldness :) And while we're at it, thanks for expanding tadalafil as well. Nice work, and surprisingly fast. Fvasconcellos 21:29, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome! By the way, the tadalafil article is currently under translation at the Portuguese WP, so your additions will soon be available there as well :) Fvasconcellos 16:11, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Kyoko, read and replied. – Riana ऋ 18:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Actually, I meant to have someone not just reword, but rewrite the whole intro. The current intro is too short to sum up the article. I hope somebody would skim through the details below and write a summary... It's simply too difficult that nobody would like to do it.
By the way, nice wording; and nice to hear the existence of the novel Tam Lin. --Deryck C. 12:46, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. It's nice to have a Japanese review a China-related article. It ensures neutrality (kaka...) --Deryck C. 12:47, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
No problem :). I too keep getting "database is locked for maintenance" error. Keep on pressing submit it may work or wait for a while. Have fun. Cheers --SkyWalker 17:10, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks Kyoko! Wow it's been a while since we've talked. Just a recent deletion discussing and another one before it make me kind of feel like I'm making the wrong impression on people. I dunno. I do like to consider myself a deletionist but not in the negative sense. Adding rampant to it makes it clear that that's not how I want to come across. But anyway, it's good to know you're still here. Do you have my page watchlisted? If so, wow. Thanks. On this note, how are you? Everything good? DoomsDay349 17:31, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- Oy vey, you've no need to tell me of Esperanza. It might sound bad, but I'm through with it. Hands washed and dried. It caused me to become something I don't want to be and I am not getting involved with it again. Hopefully everybody can work it out. I'm also tired of seeing how hard it is for everyone to agree on something. In any case, I'm not going back, I'm sure you remember how it messes with me. Just not a good place for me to be. DoomsDay349 18:35, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Arigato!
Thanks so much for fixing my Franglais! I'm usually pretty sensitive to it, but I think I blew a circuit board doing a 45-kilobyte translation and now I sound like I play for the Habs. :) I think we need a special barnstar for that. Talk:Vardenafil
Hi Kyoko. I've found the link to the article and I'll have a read as soon as possible, but IMHO we should take this up with WP:CLINMED—second and third opinions rarely ever hurt anyone :) Maybe the WikiDocs will have some insight on whether or not this is worth mentioning. Best, Fvasconcellos 19:35, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome! I wasn't able to find the longer version of the article with references (that's only a brief report), but apparently PMID 15464333 is the trial they mention. It should get some input at WP:CLINMED. Hope you're doing well, Fvasconcellos 20:12, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- Kind of swamped and kind of worn out, but I can't complain :) Fvasconcellos 21:05, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
An Invite to join Novels WikiProject
Hi, you are cordially invited to join the Novels WikiProject! We make no length distinction so all narrative prose fiction is of interest. This includes Novels, novellas, novelettes and short stories. Articles about the works themselves and the forms and genres.

I saw how well you redid that article. I was wondering if you could look this over, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crigler-Najjar_syndrome and see if I what put in was necassary or not. It's at the top. User:Bunny-chan 16:25, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Moonheart
I love Moonheart so, when I saw you'd made the page, I hoped you wouldn't mind if I added to it. I couldn't find a picture of the first edition cover though. I also remember you did nice things to Tam Lin (novel). :-) Random Passer-by (talk) 21:30, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have read Spiritwalk but not for years. My favourite de Lint novel is definitely Moonheart although I think Memory and Dream is probably his best so far. Random Passer-by (talk) 22:22, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- I don't read every de Lint book but some of his more recent stories are a little too similar to each other to satisfy me. I agree with you that Moonheart is his most magical book. I wasn't too disappointed in Spiritwalk because I didn't expect the sequel to please me as much as the original did. For me, Moonheart is one of the most perfectly escapist novels I've ever read (and I tend to re-read it when I need a dose of magical escapism). It successfully takes me somewhere else for a while. :-) Random Passer-by (talk) 00:01, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Poetry
As I currently understand it, you can add a wikisource box thing to the poems, and also some external links to other translations. It's how I see it done in places. I am not brilliant at poetry (I quit the project some time ago because I didn't have enough time to devote to it) and the articles I saw was not brilliant, but some FAs I sought out for you are Alliterative verse, The Cantos, and, interestingly, Poetry. I hope they can help you. Good luck with the poetry, and I hope you can give WP:POETRY a good kicking, they don't seem to do much. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 14:12, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Welcome!
Hi, Kyoko, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!
We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles of interest to the LGBT community. Some points that may be helpful:
- Our main aim is to help improve LGBT-related articles, so if someone asks for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
- If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
- If you're planning to stay, have a square in our quilt! You can put anything you want in it.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.
And once again - Welcome!
|
Good to see you. :)
Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:35, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- If you're interested in helping out on a casual basis, we have a list of people who need to be added to our LGBT people lists - they're fairly simple to do, and shouldn't take up much time, but it would be very helpful.
- And I appreciate your gesture. I face little discrimination offline, but the amount levelled at me online is astonishing. Why is it the people exhorted to love God and love thy neighbour are most nasty to people they perceive to be different? Even were I not a minority, my religion compels me to be as kind and non-judgemental towards everyone as possible, not try and stir up hatred against them like Ed so obviously tried to do. I find it to be a sad state of affairs. So your little candle of light in a world of darkness is received with the spirit in which it was intended. Thank you. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:57, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry Kyoko, but I do not accept it is ageist to point out that Ed acts like the excitable fourteen year old boy that he is. After my experiences when I was thirteen, I judge people by their maturity online, not their age, and Ed is obviously a fourteen year old boy, and as such I have little respect for his attempts to keep switching what he's arguing about. I may not know Ed offline, but I do know fourteen year old boys, and I know they can't bear to be proven wrong and will say anything in order to "win". I do not find it ageist to treat children like children. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 06:50, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- I got your message while previewing my endorsement :) Cheers, Moreschi Talk 13:23, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- As I understand it, a work shouldn't be tagged because its author was gay - there is nothing, after all, gay about 4′33″, Mrs. Dalloway, or The Second Coming. But if the works themselves are gay-themed, then they should be tagged, so The Line of Beauty, Trembling before G-d, Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other etc. Hope that helps. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 15:26, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

By the way, I was thinking about adding a few more people who chose to move on, even if I wasn't blessed to meet them, and I thought of Elara. Since you are close to her, would you like to write a short sentence to add there? Hugs, Phaedriel - 01:20, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- I think you're right, dear Kyoko; I'm sure she'd prefer to see the words of a dear friend of hers, like you or Dev, instead of her own. But hey, it's not a memorial, and from what I've observed reading her, she'd hate that we treated her like she was dead! ;) Just a little something to express she's missed, and that we would like to see her around again would be best. The subpage is here; feel free to add your words for her there, and don't worry about the format, I can arrange that later ;) Phaedriel - 12:59, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- That's perfect! :) Short and sweet, and denoting those important virtues that make her missed right now. I hope Elara likes it, and that she knows she'll have friends waiting for her should she ever decide to return. Thanks so much for your beautiful input, dear Kyoko! Re: Please look at this
That sounds good... not sure about the reason though. Perhaps "She cared deeply about the project and worked hard at improving things, not hesitating to voice her concerns. She decided to leave Wikipedia when she felt problems and issues were not being addressed or changed and felt she no longer had a reason to stay." Yours is good but she never said the reason was that her voice wasn't being heard; more that problems that weren't being fixed and didn't have time or feel any reason to contribute any longer. I'm not sure what the best wording would be, though, and yours is more to-the-point (but then I do tend to ramble :p ).
P.S. working on a reply to the e-mail, might take me a bit to become coherent but it's getting written at least. — Editor at Large(speak) 15:06, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- My suggestion was actually to avoid the suggestion that she left because people were disagreeing with her specifically or because of conflicts, etc. as the sentence "She decided to leave Wikipedia when she felt her concerns were no longer being addressed." seems to indicate. It wasn't personal or selfish reasons as much as large-scale issues and her just feeling there was no reason to edit here any more (life had a part in that, with her job etc. she was busy). — Editor at Large(speak) 17:59, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's perfect :) And I wish you all the muchly best of luck I possibly can m'dear; though I don't said a specific date? E-mail will work but if I know I can make sure to reply before then. Much much much love, — Editor at Large(speak) 00:04, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Excellent work, my friends, I love your beautiful words for Elara, even tho I didn't was blessed to meet her. Your touching words will remain at my userpage... hopefully temporarily until she decides to join us again. Hugs to the both of you! Phaedriel - 06:47, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject France
Hello! We are a group of editors working to improve the quality of France related articles. You look like someone who might be interested in joining us in the France WikiProject and so I thought I'd drop you a line and invite you! We'd love to have you in our project :-) STTW (talk) 20:11, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
A thought about you :)
Hi there Kyoko. Various links have put me on your talk page many times, as have links to Ayelie's. Saw the message and just thought I would drop by, say hello, and hopefully make your day. :) --Ali K 08:29, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Kind
Ok, sorry about that. >Radiant< 13:43, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Well-wishes
This is similar to what I put on Ayelie's talk, but it still applies: I hope you feel better soon (if your wikibreak is stress-induced). Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 14:21, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Before I forget to ask, do you want me to unhide your name on my friends page? I hid it after you posted on my talk about the email I sent you, and that's the reason why I've been avoiding you recently - I thought that you don't consider me a friend any more. Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 16:02, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Email alert!
Email for you, sweet K :) Please, dearie, relax - I'll be around for several more hours if you need me. Love, and see you at your mailbox, Phaedriel - 22:15, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Soundtrack
I noticed we have some similar tastes in music; namely, Evanescence and Rush. Speaking of Rush, their new album is out this week. I got a copy "early", and I must say, they're back to form. — Deckiller 07:32, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
