[edit] Wrestlemania 23

As much as I would like it to be locked down I don't think a full protect would be granted, and the IP activity is not high enough to justify a semi-protect, it may just be a case of good editors reverting IP users. Darrenhusted 11:58, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Price is Right images

Appreciate your capping and uploading TPiR images; in the future, however, I believe it would be more appropriate if you upload new images under new filenames.

  • I understand it's less work for you to not have to go into any articles and replace the images, but this may result in captions for images being incorrect; Since you went in and replaced the size of the images anyway (I'm reverting those because they are too big for the articles - sorry.), you could just have easily have changed the filename to a new filename.
  • The image may be used in an article you didn't expect and the new one may make sense (eg, if a game image was used in a Bob Barker article as an image of him playing a certain game, the new image of Drew would be inappropriate for that purpose).
  • Finally, editing an image calls its attention to "image inspectors" (people who check for things like this:) who are more likely to check the new images and see if the fair use criteria is acceptable. So far they've left these images alone, but if you edit them, they might get on the radar and cause issues. I appreciate that you added fair use rationale that didn't already exist in the images, but I've uploaded images and had them questioned and I can tell you that what you added isn't sufficient - I can see from your talk page that people have already warned you for not having sufficient Fair Use criteria. I'd like to suggest you follow the fair use template; as an example, see Image:Frasier1.jpg

In the future, I reccomend that unless you're replacing an image with a better quality/altered version of the same actual image. Thanks for the work. Keep it up.TheHYPO 21:20, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] One Bid

If you could find an image for One Bid which shows both a $1 bid and a +$1 bid (500, 501) in the same One-bid, that might be convenient to show both common fads in bidding. Just something to watch out for. TheHYPO (talk) 06:54, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Centralized TV Episode Discussion

Over the past months, TV episodes have been reverted by (to name a few) TTN, Eusebeus and others. No centralized discussion has taken place, so I'm asking everyone who has been involved in this issue to voice their opinions here in this centralized spot, be they pro or anti. Discussion is here [1]. --Maniwar (talk) 18:42, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WP:3RR

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of recurring characters on seaQuest DSV. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 07:00, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Images in lists

For future reference, you can't keep images in episode lists. It violates fair use criteria. Feel free to add them to the episode articles, but they can't go in the list itself. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 03:12, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notice of temporary injunction

Hi Kyle, I noticed you removed a {{notability}} tag from an article about a television episode[2], but there is currently a temporary injunction that applies to all editors while this arbitration case is open. The injunction was enacted on February 3, 2008 and it reads:

"For the duration of this case, no editor shall redirect or delete any currently existing article regarding a television series episode or character; nor un-redirect or un-delete any currently redirected or deleted article on such a topic, nor apply or remove a tag related to notability to such an article. Administrators are authorized to revert such changes on sight, and to block any editors that persist in making them after being warned of this injunction."

The arbitration committee would like all editors to hold off on such actions while the case is open. Thank you. --Pixelface (talk) 09:46, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Brothersandsistersseaquest.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Brothersandsistersseaquest.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:43, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:XFL Logo.gif

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:XFL Logo.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:35, 2 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Cheers, LAX 23:35, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Tobeornottobeseaquest.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Tobeornottobeseaquest.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 08:34, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Tobeornottobeseaquest.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Tobeornottobeseaquest.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:23, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BobBarkerSeason31Publicity.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:BobBarkerSeason31Publicity.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 07:39, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:SeaQuestmerchandise.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Hi Kyle C Haight!
We thank you for uploading Image:SeaQuestmerchandise.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.
