[edit] Wikiquotes
- User:Cyrius/Quotes: Quite a repository.
- User:HoratioVitero#Quotes: He's got some good ones in there.
- "Anyway, this is first and foremost an effort to write a high quality encyclopedia, not a wide open wiki." —Jimbo Wales, 16:43, December 8 2005 (UTC): May we all remember this.
- "Wikipedia articles are all works-in-progress. To date there is not yet a system for formal review and fact-checking, so there are no public-ready articles at this time, only drafts." —Brion Vibber, 18:56, December 5 2005 (UTC).
- "I just wanted to say that becoming a sysop is *not a big deal*." —Jimbo Wales, 11:55, February 11 2003 (UTC): the famous adminship quote, which I regularly couldn't find and so is now here.
- "Deletion means deletion. The deleted page archives ARE TEMPORARY TO FACILITATE UNDELETION OF PAGES WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DELETED and are subject to being cleared or removed AT ANY TIME WITHOUT WARNING." —Brion Vibber, 00:50, January 19 2007 (UTC): Good piece of info about the mw:archive table.
- http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/foundation-l/2007-February/027547.html: An e-mail from Kat Walsh on the Foundation's position on fair use and licensing. 02:57, February 8 2007 (UTC). See also Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Kat Walsh's statement.
- "The wikilawyers and trolls always want a codified set of rules on an issue, so they can subvert the spirit while adhering to the letter." —Charles Matthews, 23:15, February 8 2006 (UTC): A beautifully put summary of the problems inherent in rules-lawyering.
[edit] Wikihumor
- Wikipedia:Bad Jokes and Other Deleted Nonsense/Sysop Accountability Policy: This made me laugh.
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mermaid in a Manhole: Delete. You know, if I ever start a band I'm just going to cut out the middle-man and call it "Wikipedia:Articles for deletion." --MisterHand 20:38, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- from User talk:EncephalonSeven#Putin:
-
- Your addition of a gay porn image to the Putin article was not a notable improvement...
- Oops -- the picture can indeed be interpreted this way. I've deleted it.--EncephalonSeven 05:42, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- Hmmm...how else could a threesome of naked elderly men, one of whom is clearly being fellated by another, be "interpreted"?
- "Political chierarchy"? ... Anyway, this picture is history now. --EncephalonSeven 20:42, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
