Recently he has signed with the Spokane Shock, an arena 2 team in Washington, and he has begun to see playing time as tight end and goalline fullback.

Young red shirted in 2002. As a redshirt freshman in 2003, he started all 14 games, was an Honorable Mention All-WAC selection, and a Freshman All-America honoree by the Football Writers Association of America. In 2004, Young started all 12 games, was selected second-team All-WAC after another stellar season, and made the Dave Rimington Trophy watch list. As of the week of November 6, 2006, Young has been suspended by the Bulldogs for an academic requirement violation. Young did not play another snap for Fresno State, and went undrafted in the 2007 NFL draft.
