In the fictional Star Trek universe, Kyle Riker was a civilian strategist sometimes working for Starfleet. He was born about 2304. In 2353, he was working on a starbase which was attacked by the Tholians. Riker was the only survivor. After the incident he was cared for by Katherine Pulaski, and they became romantically involved. Pulaski would later state that she would have married him, if not for Riker's first priority being his career.
Kyle and his wife Elizabeth had one son, Will. Kyle's wife died in 2337. Kyle raised his son, William Riker, alone, in Alaska, Earth until Will reached the age of 15. After that, father and son became estranged and did not meet again for many years until Kyle visited Will on the USS Enterprise-D.
Kyle Riker appeared in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode The Icarus Factor. He was played by Mitchell Ryan.
In the non-canonical Star Trek: A Time To... books, Kyle Riker died while saving his son's life, when a building collapsed on top of him.
