Kyaukphyu

Kyaukphyu is a coastal town in western Myanmar on the Bay of Bengal. It lies in Rakhine state.

It is the site of a proposed deepwater port for the import of oil destined for China which would thereby bypass the dangerous and pirate-prone Straits of Malacca.

The port is located on Maday island. [1] [2]
