[edit] Detailed

Hmm ... y'know what, I think this is kinda too detailed. Maybe we should tone it down a bit (particularly the excessive background info), so that largely all it says is what's in the games. Maybe put some of his personality into the first paragraph and then move the 'background' as a subsectin of the "story" bit. --Yar Kramer 08:36, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

I think I did a pretty decent job of cleaning and tightening it up. Feel free to tweak. JSchmitt 00:38, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

It should be detailed... this is Ky Kiske's page... not just his involvement in the game but in the canonical information from the makers of Guilty Gear as well should be added. 9 December 2005

True, and while all the characters' pages have at least some information fom outside the game, none of the other characters' pages go into that much detail (they don't have the "height/weight" stats, for instance, which I frankly think is irrelevant). Put in too much detail, and it'll be information overload for people who don't know anything about the games. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. --Yar Kramer 19:06, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

Nothing in that page prohibits a large amount of detail from being put out on a certain character.

That is why the "spoilers" tool is included. To warn a person if they do not wish to be overwhelmed. It just so happens that Ky Kiske's page has more information than the other Guilty Gear characters. If you want equality among them, it's better that you add information on the other characters with spoiler signs, rather than lessening the information available, which is what Wikipedia is supposed to give those who want the information.

Nobody goes here to be overwhelmed. They go here to get as much information as they can. 12 December 2005

...this may be true, but there are guidelines against fancruft. Much as I love Ky, I don't think he, or any other GG character, needs his height or weight stats, or dates of future, fictitious in-game events. These things would be much more suitable to, say, a Guilty Gear -specific wiki, and not Wikipedia.
And there's a difference between information overload and spoilers. The first is fancruft and makes the article look ridiculous and cluttered. The second is giving away plot details.JSchmitt 18:39, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Though even the fancruft article calls it an "open question". There are gobs of fancrufty material on characters from like every other fighting game I can think of, so Guilty Gear's pages seem like the exception, not the rule. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, in fact I'm saying it's really hard to tell. I'd say putting it off to the side in a sharply formatted table wouldn't be such a bad idea, but that's just my opinion. --Narfness 01:17, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Uh ... D'oh, ignore my edit-comment about ignoring the talk page, I myself hadn't checked the talk page before reverting it, sorry. --Yar Kramer 20:00, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

I'd like to know where I can find this Guilty-specific Wikipedia. If you can give me where I can put such information, I'll consider not changing this page again.

I only want to give information to other people who want to know stuff about Ky. The information I got had to be imported and it seems such a waste that such rare info can't be found anywhere else in such an organized form as Wikipedia can offer. December 17, 2005

Uh, there isn't a Guilty Gear wiki. JSchmitt was just using that as an example. I wish there was, though ... >.> --Yar Kramer 06:28, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
Which information? Most of the stat information is available on the official English Isuka site. I will agree here that Wikipedia isn't quite the place to put info just because it's rare and you need somewhere to put it. Still, I think in practice stat information is considered encyclopedic. --24.14.76.248 00:21, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Templates

I noticed this page has a template regarding Ky's statistics (lik age, etc.). Can someone give me statistics on all the Guilty gear characters..? I think inserting templates in all the character articles might be a good idea. -ZeroTalk 20:39, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure all that information is available in the game apart from age. I'm interested in hearing a source on that, too (though getting the DOB from the age is pretty simple, assuming GGXX takes place in 2181) ... --Yar Kramer 22:16, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
I actually can't find anything in Japanese on Google about Ky and "24 years old" or "2157AD" (and pretty much all variants thereof, though I might be doing something stupid or missing stuff not listed on Google). If no one cited anything it seems awfully likely that someone somewhere just made it up, so I'll remove it for now. Most info you need is listed at http://www.guiltygearx2reload.com/char.htm or http://guiltygeargame.com/main.html . Other than that is voiceactors, which most pages have already. May's and Dizzy's birthdays are just arbitrary dates (Boy's Day and Christmas) when they celebrate, since their real birthdays are unknown. Of course, there are already-compiled secondary sources all over the web, I'm just trying to provide some official ones. --Narfness 08:57, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
