KXL (750 AM, "NewsRadio 750 KXL") is a commercial broadcast radio station in Portland, Oregon. It is primarily a talk radio station; and also includes sports coverage. Its transmitter is located in Damascus. It is owned by Rose City Radio Corporation, which in turn is owned by billionaire and Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen.
The station also has a sister station, KXL-FM, on the FM band; that station was registered as KXJM and had a Rhythmic contemporary format March 26, 1999 until May 12, 2008, when it flipped formats to All Sports. The KXJM calls, Rhythmic format and all other intellectual properties were acquired by CBS Radio. KXL-FM is also owned by Rose City Radio Corporation.
On March 15, 2008, someone intentionally rammed a car through the front door of the KXL building and sped away.[1] The driver was suspected to be a disgruntled KXJM listener, which is based in the same building. The driver of the car was later found and detained for a mental evaluation.[2] The man, Andy Chung of Vancouver, WA, was arraigned on a variety of charges including first-degree criminal mischief, failure to perform the duties of a driver and reckless endangerment.[3]

[edit] Talk show hosts
KXL is the flagship station for nationally-syndicated talk show host Lars Larson. Other nationally-syndicated hosts carried by the station include Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage, Brian Berger, and Bob Brinker. Locally-produced shows of note include Larson's nationally-syndicated show, a local talk show also hosted by Larson which focuses on local rather than national politics, and "The Bald Faced Truth", a sports talk show hosted by columnist John Canzano of The Oregonian.
[edit] Sports
Currently, KXL is the flagship stations for the Portland Trail Blazers NBA franchise, also owned by Paul Allen, and is the voice of the University of Oregon Ducks athletic teams in the Portland area. But starting May 12, 2008 these programs and other related shows featuring these teams will move over to KXL-FM, where they will begin their season opener on that station.[4].
