{{helpme}} What are the Wiki rules regarding plagiarism when the original copyrighted text is translated? I have discovered that a German contributer is taking sections of my copyrighted website writings in English, translating them into German and posting them on the German Wikipedia. He has not asked my permission nor does he cite my website or give the webpages as references. Kwonder (talk) 19:46, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's still a copyright violation. Speak to the user. You could (carefully worded) threaten legal action via some off-wiki medium as a last resort...... Dendodge .. TalkHelp 20:21, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] External links at Weyerhaeuser
Please read up about external links. Adding your link to the top of a list of links is bad form and makes your actions look like that of a spammer. Please also note that Wikipedia is not a soapbox. If the information contained in the link you've added can be incorporated into the article and the link used as a cite, that would be the best thing to do. I won't remove your link again until I've taken a look at the links to see if they comply with our external links guidelines, but you should note that unexplained reversions can look like vandalism and/or edit warring and that your changes also restored an unnecessary commercial link to another Weyerhaeuser product. If you would start using edit summaries, that would be very helpful. Thanks. Katr67 (talk) 21:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
