KVUU is an Top 40/CHR radio station in the Colorado Springs, Colorado, market that is known by its moniker "My 99.9". It was known for many years by its previous moniker, "K-View 99.9".

[edit] History

Prior to 1983, KVUU's call letter were KYNR and was an Easy Listening/Beautiful Music format. It later adopted the KVUU calls and K-View moniker and flipped to an Adult Contemporary format. The station evolved into a Hot AC format in the 1990s and changed to its moniker to My 99.9 in 2005, and has evolved towards a CHR format to compete with mainstream CHR KKMG "98.9 Magic FM".

The format is similar to WSTR/Atlanta, and play a large amount of 80s, 90s and current music heard on on Hot AC and tracks on Top 40 not heard on Hot AC stations including rap and R&B music. On March 7, 2008, Radio & Records moved KVUU from the Hot AC panel to the Top 40/CHR panel, in part due to its conversion to a CHR direction[1]. In addition, Mediabase has also started listing KVUU as a Top 40/CHR reporter as well[2].
