[edit] Meaning of the word "kvæði"

The word kvæði means song or ballad, but for sure not dance. The Faroese rindgdance is called føroyskur dansur ("Faroese dance"). Thus, a kvæði is a ballad, often accompanied by this dance, but not always. A kvæði can also been sung, when sitting, or in a choir just standing on the stage. I suggest, to make two articles: Faroese ballads (this one) and Faroese dance -- Arne List 09:17, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
