[edit] Current operations
Further expansion leads to incorporation of KGPC Bioenergy (Canada)[1], and construction of approx. 130 million annual liters capacity, bioethanol[2] plant. KGPC Bioenergy innovative ethanol project will provide more than 40 direct full-time skilled jobs. Indirect employment is expected to be in the order of 400 to 600 additional jobs. This will launch the development of new and synergistic relationships with local universities, equipment manufacturers and technology providers in building a strong long-term economic model for the province.
The projected annual production of the KGPC Bioenergy's facility will be more than 130 million liters of fuel ethanol using at least 330,000 tones of low-grade wheat feed stock a year. An additional product is distillers' dried grains (DDG). The amount of this high-quality animal feed base is calculated at 100,000 tones a year.
The plant will be designed and built by Fagen Inc.[3], who in association with Fagen Engineering LLC,(industry leaders) provides complete design-build service.
This project will place KGPC on a leading biofuels production position in Canada, along:
- Husky Energy, [4]
- Commercial Alcohols, [5][6]
- NorAmera Bioenergy, [7]
- Seaway Grain Processors,
- Suncor Energy,[8]
- Okanagan Biofuels, [9]
