Talk:Kutztown, Pennsylvania
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I cleaned up the Kutztown History segment a bit, but I still think it needs more factual varification, expecially when the native americans arrived and "George Coots". Getagrip123 22:52, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
I would also like to make a note about the tensions between the town and the university, but I'm concerned about it sounding POV. Getagrip123 22:52, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- Will have to second that part - is there even any actual sources that can be cited? I know about the tensions as well - but I don't know if there's a source we could cite. If we could do that, that'd be a good start.
OK, I think I improved it with my photos, the extended entry paragraph, the extened links, the history, and the info-table. As for the whole tensions thing, why not cite the Patriot?
Can Patriot and other newspaper articles be quoted even if they have a copyright? All of their stories have: ©Berks-Mont Newspapers 2007 –Rhodyman 00:13, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The University
Why is the University only briefly mentioned in this article? Given the fact that the school does make up a large part of the town, you'd think it would be given more than "is the home of..." I do realize that the historical society has adamantly opposed many of the university's renovation plans, among other things, but this bias is unwarranted. Eye86u 04:14, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- It's not a bias. There's a whole other article on the University. See Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. There's no need to have the same information on two pages about the University. --Son 13:18, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- Also, the University is not in Kutztown Borough, it is in Maxatawny Township. That leads to an area of contention, the University does not contribute to Kutztown Borough law enforcement which must be much larger than if the University was not there. During sessions, the population of Kutztown nearly doubles. --Rhodyman (talk) 14:07, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
