Welcome to the German Democratic Republic WikiProject. We are a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of the German Democratic Republic, also known as "East Germany".

Goals
  • Create and improve articles about people, groups, and organizations related to this period of German history
  • Create centralized resources for translation of related German terms
  • Create an assessment system to obtain a measure of quality and completeness of coverage
  • Keep track of and organize GDR-related stubs
Scope
  • Politics of the GDR, including biographies of all important politicians
  • History of the GDR, including the peaceful revolution leading to German reunification
  • Organizations of the GDR
  • Culture of the GDR
