[edit] Historical Analysis of the Books?
To Whoever Created This Page:
I think it would be interesting to add some analysis of the parallels between the history/politics/religion/mythology of the Kushiel's Legacy series and real history. I find it fascinating, and I think that other readers of the book might, too. ~kreatin
- Agreed. I'm going to work on throwing something together, but I'll want help. eveningscribe 05:09, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks eveningscribe. I think it would be amazing. I don't even know where to begin, honestly. ~kreatin
That would be very interesting and would help people understand the alternate history aspect more. I think that their precept, love as thou wilt, could have drawn some heave inspiration from Thelema[1] and Ordo Templi Orientis[2]. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.108.170.229 (talk) 05:51, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Court of Night Blooming Flowers
I wonder: does a list of the Hoses of the Court of Night Blooming Flowers need to be on this page, since it already has a wikipedia page of its own? eveningscribe 05:23, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- If the Night Court Houses have their own page then I say they can (and should) be mentioned here, but not be listed in the detail they have been. --The Extremist [User, Talk] 12:27, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Taken care of. --Bookgrrl holler/lookee here 23:29, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Elua's Companions
... Are currently referred to as angels. I don't think they were referred to as such at any time in the book or the series. To my recollection there was a distinct difference between the companions of Elua and angels (such as Rahab). --The Extremist [User, Talk] 12:27, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm going to have to disagree with you. I believe that it does specifically mention that they are angels (although I'd need to look stuff up to actually cite that). Specifically, Kushiel was the angel who was the Punisher of God, etc. Secondly, a rhetorical argument: how could D'Angelines be a race born from "angels and men" if it was not Elua's companions who were the angels? This in no way means that I argue that Elua was an angel; he clearly says, "my grandfather's heaven is bloodless, and I am not." ~kreatin
[edit] Summary too long
These are great books, I loved them from the first minute I picked up the first book :) I suggest however that the summary here is considerably over-length and could be trimmed a good bit. Anyone else have thoughts on that? --Bookgrrl holler/lookee here 23:29, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with you in that the summary is ridiculously long. However, is it possible to have a short summary of this book? I tried, and failed. ~kreatin
[edit] List of Characters at the End
I think that it is unnecessary to have to have a list of characters at the end of this article. Anyone who opened the from cover of any of the Kushiel's Legacy books could easily read the more extensive list in the books. ~kreatin
