[edit] Kurmanci (magazine)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Kurmanci (magazine), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Kurmancî. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 00:56, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] October 2007
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that recently you carried out a copy and paste page move from Kurmancî to Kurmanci (magazine). Please do not move articles by copying and pasting them because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. — madman bum and angel 02:58, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] welcome
First welcome, you did a good start, but I have some suggestions. Before mentioning them I want to ask you whether you are any of 75.24.193.144 and 171.70.250.61. Now, please do not remove merger suggestions, also when you add something it should not be your original research, it should be supported by some reliable sources. I did revert some of your edits for that reason. Wikipedia is not a paper, but we cannot have an article on everything on Wikipedia. They need to be notable. When an article gets too large, we should probably split the article, and we should be able to do that as some sections of large articles probably deserve their own article, but if the article is already small, and if a part is not notable enough to deserve its own article, then that part should stay there. I've been talking about merger proposal of Northern Kurmanji. Please try and stay away doing controversial unilateral moves. Take care, and have s good wiki life. Welcome again. Please check the blue links. DenizTC 13:36, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi Denizz, the reason for a separation of "Northern Kurmanji" and "Kurmanji" is because the former is a sub-dialect and the latter is a language or class of dialects. It would not make sense to merge the two unless we also consider merging "Sorani" with Kurmanji, since it is also a sub-dialect like Northern Kurmanji.
Also, the Kurmanci (linguistics) page was created to remove previous confusion between another page that was used to refer to a magazine. Furthermore, it was to remove the confusion that Northern Kurmanji and Kurmanji are one in the same.Kurdology1 (talk • contribs) 17:05, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- The question is whether it warrants a separate article now, and it seems it doesn't. Please see Turkish language, a long, featured article, which means that it is one of the best articles, and now check Istanbuli dialect, the Doğu dialect, etc. all red links, b/c the information about them does not warrant a separate article for now. Normal process would be that you improve the article Kurmanji, add sourced info, and after we have a good number of sourced info, it might be time to split the article, but certainly now it is not the time. Also the name of the article should probably be Kurmanji due to WP:NAME policy. If there is a common English usage, we use it. You did a good job with creating the disambiguation page (assuming that the disambiguated parts warrant a separate article), if you want to, we can use {{dablink}} or {{for}} to connect the articles for the magazine, language and others. Please check the blue links. Also, are you those anons I mentioned above? We should refrain from doing controversial moves unilaterally. Lastly, you can sign by typing 4 tildas (~ ~ ~ ~, with no blanks). DenizTC 17:32, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks for your comments Denizz. The reason why Kurmanci (linguistics) was used, instead of Kurmanji was because I was trying to follow a similar format used for the Gorani class of dialects spoken by people in the Middle East under Gorani (linguistics). I thought this fit under the WP:NAME policy since the latter had no objections. Also, according to the logic, there may be needed consideration for articles such as Sorani, Kurmanji and Gorani (linguistics) to be placed under the Kurdish language since they are all dialects or classes of spoken by Kurds, as was done similarly with the Turkish language article. I did not make these changes but they should be considered if Northern Kurmanji is merged with Kurmanji. Kurdology1 (talk • contribs) 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Kurdology, if you want to discuss the Kurds, discuss them at Kurds but try to stop your enthusiasm for that ethnicity spilling over to unrelated articles such as Mitanni. dab (𒁳) 08:49, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Dbachmaan - I have provided scholarly articles to support those claims. I am not supporting any view but simply trying to provide readers with fair and balanced information for the articles they research. I have even removed biases in favor of Kurds in other articles because I do not believe in spreading fabrications no matter who or what they benefit. False information is not in my interest. [edit] Şeva Zistanê
your addition of the Şeva Zistanê article and winter solstice section is a fascinating addition however to insure its longevity do you have any sources you could provide as reference material? Any language would be of great help. thanks 99.140.190.221 (talk) 03:59, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
