The meaning of 黒猫 is "black cat". It is pronounced "kuroneko" in Japanese (or "hēimāo" in Mandarin).
My name is Brianna, and I am a 20-year old student at UCLA. I study Linguistics and East Asian Languages with an emphasis on Modern Japanese, and a minor in Germanic Languages. My academic interests are in historical and synchronic linguistics, bilingualism and second language acquisition, and the comparative philology of West Germanic languages and of East Asian languages. Personal hobbies include violin performance, video games, and foreign language study. I am interested in teaching, translating, and interpreting as future career options. My dream job would be to translate for a video game company; this is especially appealing since my fiancé is working toward an undergraduate degree in Game Art and Design.
Outside of languages and gaming, some other miscellaneous interests which will probably reflect in my Wikipedia contributions include Classical music; vampires and jiang shi; Asian mythology and culture; Japanese rock music and visual kei; classical civilization and mythology; and random facts that make me sound smart.
