Talk:Kursk
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The page seem to contain almost no information about modern life of Kursk and even have no links to administrations' websites. My attempt to add a photograph of modern Kursk was reverted with the image being described as 'hardly informative rural creek' (in fact this is an area in the very centre of Kursk ([1] - place of shooting, camera looking southwestbound) with 'private sector' houses in the foreground and a number of multi-storey urban blocks in the background). Is it a policy - to describe a large central-Russian regional center trough two aged b/w photos of cathedrals and accepting no actual additions? Ss r 09:15, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
The revert also seem to return the wrong statement that Battle of Kursk was "major turning point of the war" (in fact Battle of Stalingrad was) and the doubtful sentence "after which time Germany's fortunes began to decline" was returned instead of more correct "the last major German offensive mounted against USSR". Could you please clarify your policies? Your revert doesn't seem to be logical. Ss r 10:03, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] battle of kursk
battle of kursk is not really a turning point, stalingrad was because that was the first major german defeat of the whole war, battle of moscow was because thats when the germans' advance was haulted for the first time. i changed the article to reflect this.

[edit] ROSI/Kursk Chamber Orchestra
Difficult to find references for things, as I only speak a few words of Russian.
Regarding ROSI and KCO, the best I can offer is that I was just there.

[edit] Architecture
Not sure about this but is the architecture in the photo actually Stalinist, or just plain neoclassical? HowardSelsam 08:49, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Source Under Attractions Section
The first footnote source does not seem to have anything to do with this particular section of the article, as it directs to an arguably irrelevant website. XRedcomet (talk) 10:33, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
