Kurtatsch (Italian: Cortaccia sulla strada del vino; German: Kurtatsch an der Weinstraße; Archaic (300 AD): Curtacium, Kurtazo, Cortazum, Cortezum, Curtacia, Curtatschum; Latin: Curtis) is a comune (municipality) in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 30 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 25 km southwest of the city of Bolzano/Bozen. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,145 and an area of 29.4 km².[1]
The municipality of Kurtatsch contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Graun (Corona), Fennberg (Favogna), Hofstatt, Entiklar (Niclara), and Penon (Penone).
Kurtatsch borders the following municipalities: Neumarkt (Egna), Margreid (Magrè), Tramin (Termeno), Coredo, Roverè della Luna, Ton, Tres, and Vervò.
