Kurt Sauer (born January 16, 1981 in St. Cloud, Minnesota) is a professional ice hockey Defenceman in the NHL, playing for the Colorado Avalanche.
Sauer has played his last two seasons with Colorado, and has also played for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. He made it to the Stanley Cup Finals with Anaheim in 2003. His father Curt played for the Minnesota Twins.
He is the older brother of Michael Sauer, also a defenseman who is a prospect in the New York Rangers organization.
