According to the Polish Copyright Law Act of February 4, 1994, (Article 4, cases 4.1 and 4.2) the "governmental symbols, documents, materials and signs are not subject to copyrights". Hence it is assumed that this image has been released into the public domain. However, in some instances the use of this image in Poland might be regulated by other laws. |

The purpose of this illustration is to show how the Polish post office recognized the traditions of the Kurpie region of Poland.
Note: illustration of Polish stamps is common in catalogs, such as Fischer's catalog of Polish Stamps (Katalog Polskich Znakow Pocztowych), and in various publications intended for stamp collectors such as Linn's Stamp News.
