KUPD (97.9 FM, "98 KUPD") is a radio station broadcasting an Active rock format. Licensed to Tempe, Arizona, USA, the station serves the Phoenix, Arizona, area. The station is currently owned by Tempe Radio, Inc., a division of Sandusky Radio.[1]

Prior to its evolution to Active Rock in the 1980s, KUPD's previous formats included Top 40, MOR, Easy listening and Adult Contemporary. In the 1990s it became the sister station to KDKB and KSLX-FM after being purchased by Sandusky Radio, which also owns stations in Seattle, Washington.

Notable weekday programming includes Bret Vesely on overnights, Holmberg's Morning Sickness with John Holmberg, Brady Bogen, and Creepy-E on mornings, Larry McFeelie on mid-days, Fitz Madrid on afternoons, The Shan Man on evenings, and the syndicated Loveline with Dr. Drew on late nights.
