Kunduana is an Aryan/Rajput* tribe and is one of the highest ranked tribes among Rajputs*. (* Distinguish from Rajput of Hindu caste system)
It is also a prominent Gujjar gotra. They are found in Pakistan and Northern India (Kashmir).

In India, Kunduanas reside mainly in the states of Punjab (India) and Kashmir. In Punjab, 5 villages have only Kunduanas. They are also found in tehsils of Srinagar.

In Pakistan, Kunduana / Kunduwana Clans are found in Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad,Jhelum, Chakwal, Sialkot, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Narowal, Bahawalpur Multanand Bahawalnagar, Sheikhupura districts of Punjab (Pakistan). In Sindh Province they are found in the District of Sukkur, Hyderabad, Nawabsha, Thatta, Daddu, Hala, Khairpur, Shahdadpur and Karachi.

Majority of Kunduanas are Muslim along with a small Christian population. The Muslim population of Kunduana is predominantly in Pakistan.

The Kunduanas are one of the oldest Gujjar Clans in South West Asia. Although they are included amongst the larger Gujjar gotra, Kunduana are one of the few clans considered to be of pure royal bloodline, the clan is named after Kunduan, believed to be great grandson to Alexander the Great himself. They also pride themselves on being ranked highest amongst "pure" Gujjar clans, considered second only to the Gorsi (Pure Blood) clan.
