[edit] Forest Whitaker

Hi KumarG83, Thanks for clarifying the differences between strabismus and amblyopia. It sounds like you know much more about the subject than I do, so I trust what you're saying - as I said, I was only going by what was written in the source for that sentence, which is linked here. (If you go to the Forest Whitaker article and click on the [1] after the "lazy eye" sentence, it will take you to the link in the footnotes section.) The statement about FW's condition is near the end of the news article. It's possible that the reporter got it wrong, since it looks like strabismus and amblyopia are easily confused with one another. Wikipedia's own article for strabismus states, "Both strabismus and amblyopia are sometimes referred to as lazy eye."

In any case, I'll defer to your judgment here. Feel free to edit the FW article based on what you know, and if you want to back it up, leave a note on the talk page with the same explanation. It would be helpful if you could find another source referring to FW's condition as amblyopia, but I think that if you sufficiently demonstrate your knowledge on the talk page and note how easily these terms are mixed up, it will be enough to settle the issue. Hope that helps. I'm glad you brought this up.

On an unrelated note, I just wanted to say that on talk pages, you'll want to sign your name like this ~ ~ ~ ~, except without the spaces. If you have any other questions, feel free to leave another note. Cue the Strings 18:26, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
