Created in early 2005, the Kumquat Computer Corporation (originally the PH Corporation) is a popular Internet business parody.
The site mimics the internal corporate portal of a fictitious company previously known as the PH Corporation, run by a female CEO named Karla Fidora. Some have drawn parallels between Kumquat and one or more real companies (in particular HP and Carly Fiorina). According to the creators, the site includes many varied firsthand experiences from many large companies. A common criticism of the site is that numerous "inside" jokes are difficult for non-HP employees or ex-employees to understand.
The site includes employee relations features, travel policies, corporate news and communications from top management - all the things you would expect to see on a real corporate employee portal. The majority of the site's illustrations were custom created digital illustrations created using the software application Poser.
