Kumara Swamy devasthana, is located in Hanumanthnagar, Bangalore. India It is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Kumara Swamy, also known as Lord Subramanya. There is a saying in Tamil " There is no medicine better than dried ginger / ona shunti and there is no God greater than Lord Subrahmanya " Lord Subrahmanya is also known as Skanda/Swaminatha/Guha/Kumara and was born from the 3rd eye or the ajnaa chakraa / spiritual chakraa point between the eyes of Lord Shiva and is said to be the Parabrahman / SupremeMost God / The One Truth / Advaita Parabrahman of whom all the other Gods are different forms. It is also believed that Lord Shiva who would finally at the end of the MahaPralaya, remain alone would himself merge with Lord Subrahmanya who is the Ultimate Truth.
Lord Subrahmanya is worshipped for the begetting of children, success in War, getting a Good Job, For Marriage and For Knowledge of the Ultimate Truth ( To Know him by being one with him )
At Kumarswamy temple in Bangalore, the priests are of Telugu Origin and the Lord Kumaraa/Subrahmanyaa here is worshipped by devotees for Courage, Job, Marriage, Children and to reach the Goal of Spirituality.

The temple is located on top of a hill with gentle slope. Walk ways with stair case are laid all the way to the top of the summit. At the foothill of the hill is Pancha-Mukhi Ganesha temple. This temple is built using modern techniques and looks impressive. The sanctum has idol of Lord Ganesha with 5 heads and hence the name Pancha-Muki Ganesha. Special pooja's(prayer) are performed on Sankastha Chaturdesi and temple is literally crowded on this day. It is said that the Elephant which does not fear any other animal, gets terribly scared when it sees a Lion in it's dream since the Lion jumps on the elephant from a height and then tries to kill it. Here the vehicle of the Lord Ganesha is the Lion. It means that he is the God who has subjugated even the king of animals and made it his vehicle.
So, the belief of worshipping the Lord Ganesha here for remaining without fear, in Life and for defeating even the strongest of enemies, one may worship the Lord Ganesha here for whom worship is done in the authentic ancient Gaanapatyaa method of worship. This temple is one of the few temples in Bangalore to follow this ancient method of worship in the way it should be for Lord Ganesha
On the opposite side of the temple, the sanctum for Navaraghas are located.
The temple at the top is dedicated to Lord Kumara swamy. This impressive temple is visited by devotees regularly. Special prayers are performed during "Subbaraya (subramanya) Shasti". There will be considerable crowd of devotees "subbaraya shasti".
Next to the Lord Kumara swamy temple, there is another small granite hill. On top of this, there is huge water tank built by BWSSB. It supplies potable water to the adjoining areas.
On a clear day, from the top of the hill, one can have a good aerial view of Bangalore city.
