Kuhmoinen

Kuhmoinen is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. The municipality has a population of 2,880 (2003) and covers an area of 937.12 km² of which 275.26 km² is water. The population density is 3.1 inhabitants per km².
Kuhmoinen lies on the west coast of Lake Päijänne.
Isojärvi National Park resides in Kuhmoinen on the south side of Lake Isojärvi
The municipality is unilingually Finnish. The municipality has previously also been known as "Kuhmois" in Swedish documents, but is today referred to as "Kuhmoinen" also in Swedish.[1]
