[edit] The identity of Kugutsu Mawashi.

(Based largely on discussion I found over three pages here, http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=33978 I would like to add the following explanation of the character: Jez crow 01:26, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Research

Thanks two cents :-D . I think that's fair. Since the DVD hasn't even been released there can't be any references that could have been published yet.

[edit] Rewrite?

I release the identity bit is a conjecture in the form of narrative, which people find too subjective for wiki.

Would anyone prefer a summary more like the following? (Based on fact from the film.) Tx Jez crow 15:56, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Koshiki died, Koshiki was promoted, and the Major vanished into the net at the same time, 2 years ago. (Implying Kugutsu Mawashi was responsible for the whole conspiracy, since Koshiki was already dead when he was promoted, also placing the Major in the timeframe as a possible suspect)

The Koshiki remote body appears to have belonged to the Major. (She passed it in the lobby of her apartment.)

Ka Ruma was assassinated by Kugutsu Mawashi. (Kugutsu Mawashi got hold of the intelligence because the Major had been given the intelligence, when she had been hired to perform the task?)

In the sequence of faces suggesting a collective consciousness, the Major's face is shown last. (The last possible person she would suspect would be herself?)

Kugutsu Mawashi specifically trapped the Major, no-one else, into brain-diving him. (How would it know her? Why did it need to talk to her specifically? Unless it needed to confess that he was really her?)

Occam's Razor! Simplest explanation is that Kugutsu Mawashi is an existing character. The Major is the character most capable of performing the role Kugutsu Mawashi. Why isn't it Solid State? Because the rhizome required a hub-cyberbrain to integrate them in the first place and the Major is similar to Kuze.

Even if Koshiki did provide the initial hub-cyberbrain, why would he be using a remote that belonged to the Major? Alternatively, why would Solid State steal/use the Major's remote?

MK: "Rather than a system, I would call it a collective consciousness formed by the elderly invalids hooked up to the network. However, there must also exist... ... a hub cyberbrain who integrated them in the first place."

(The logic is still a bit long, I guess. :-/)

perhaps the major was already hacked prior to that, that she herself is also a puppet in the whole affair. Akinkhoo 12:43, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Image:GITS-SAC-SSS rack of remotes.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
