[edit] Background
Kuemper Catholic was founded as an all-girls boarding school called St. Angela Domestic Science Institute in 1909. The school was dedicated to educating young women in the art of Christian homemaking. The focus on homemaking was slowly phased out starting in 1938. The school became coeducational in 1954 and was renamed Kuemper Catholic. [1]
