KTRV, also known as Fox 12, is the Fox affiliate for the Boise, Idaho area. The station is owned by Block Communications, and it is licensed to Nampa, Idaho. The station signed on the air on October 18, 1981.
When KTRV first went on the air, it was the only independent TV station in the region. In 1986, KTRV became a charter Fox affiliate, & was Fox's only charter affiliate in Idaho. For the first 6 years, it regularly showed syndicated talk shows and children's programming in the day, and movies in the evening.
The KTRV call letters stand for TReasure Valley, which is a portion of southern Idaho and eastern Oregon.
In May of 1999, Fox 12 formed a local news department and began broadcasting "Fox 12 News at Nine." The station's news success prompted the creation and launch of "Fox 12 This Morning" in April of 2007.
