The station is broadcast on over-the-air analog channel 4, digital over-the-air channel 20, as well as on the local cable system, GCI. KTBY airs Fox programming and sports, along with courtroom shows and reruns of sitcoms. KTBY also airs a 30 minute 9pm newscast, which is produced by KTVA, and is rebroadcasted at 2:30am, 5:30am and 6:00am.

[edit] History

KTBY signed on the air on December 2, 1983 as a locally-owned independent before joining the then-fledgling Fox Network on its launch of October 9, 1986, and today is still one of the charter affiliates. They were the only Fox station in Alaska until 1992, when KFXF in Fairbanks went on the air.
