My <math> problem mysteriously went away. Perhaps the rendering of the formula into the .png file takes some time. FWIW, here's what didn't work and now does work:

\log_b n = \frac{\log_x n}{\log_x b}

Testing other <math> stuff...

\delta = \sqrt{\frac{\Sigma(\overline{x} - x_i)^2}{n - 1}}

pinc = 2^B \times \frac{F_d}{F_s}

B = 31

F_d = f_0 - \frac{f_1 + f_4}{2}


Fs = 7500 kHz
