KSnapshot is a screenshot application for the KDE desktop environment that was created by Richard J. Moore, Matthias Ettrich and Aaron J. Seigo in Qt and C++.
KSnapshot allows users to use hotkeys to take a screenshot of the entire screen, a selected portion, one window or just one part of a window. Users then have the choice to save the screenshot in a variety of formats, copy it to the clipboard or directly open it with any program that is associated with image files.
An equivalent application for the GNOME desktop environment is gnome-screenshot.
